Understanding The Flat Feet Symptoms

2 min read

When the arches of your feet are flat, the soles of your feet touch the floor, whether you re standing or walking.  Although the condition stays painless initially, pain may develop later. It may develop during childhood or due to an injury later. Apart from this, wear and tear or age-related stress may also result in flat feet. You may have problems in the ankles or knees with flat feet, although no specific treatment may be necessary. Some of the risk factors resulting in flat feet are obesity, rheumatoid arthritis, injury on the ankle or foot or diabetes. Having flat feet may be in the genes but some people have high arches or no arches at all.

Knowing the symptoms

Many people with flat feet may not experience pain or other problems but certain types of flat feet may be painful. The commonest flat feet symptoms [อาการ เท้า แบน, which is the term in Thai] are cramps in the legs, pain in the arch, ankle, heel, or outside of the feet. Besides, you may experience pain hen walking or changes in the gait when you walk. The front part of the toes and foot may point outward in people with flat feet. However, people may not have any symptoms of flat feet but a slight pain around the area of the heel or the arch may occur when you have flat feet.

Treatment for flat feet

When you visit a doctor for the treatment of flat feet, they are going to perform a thorough analysis of the ankles and the feet to diagnose the condition correctly. Changing these, physical therapy, or a surgery in severe cases may be recommended to correct the alignment of the feet. Flat feet may emerge as a major problem in your daily life as you may face difficulty in walking with certain shoes. Discussing your problem with the doctor may yield the right solution.
