Understanding the Best Five-Step Skincare Routine for a Beautiful Skin

2 min read

Do you wish to adopt a suitable skincare routine? You should follow and try out these five steps of Korean skincare for refurbishing and replenishing skin.

1. Oil-based Cleansers

The Korean approach to skincare, in general, is delicate. However, washing is no exception to the approach. The double cleansing method removes impurities and grime from your skin. However, the process is relatively gentle. This implies that rigorous scrubbing does not undermine the natural skin barrier, and skin is not drained of all oils, including the good, beneficial oils that protect and balance skin. Oil-based cleansers remove oil-based pollutants including makeup, sunscreen, and excess sebum while remaining gentle on the oil balance of your skin.

2. Water-based Cleansers

A water-based cleanser can remove pollutants that oil-based cleansers cannot. Therefore, using a water-based cleanser after an oil-based cleanser can help sweep away any residue left behind by the oil-based cleanser. When the two cleansers are used together, the skin is fully cleansed. It is important to remember that water-based cleaners have a reputation for being drying and peeling, which owes to the high pH and sulfates in these cleansers.

3. Toners

When we talk about toners in the K-Beauty skincare routine, we refer to various kinds of Korean toners. These are not the same as Western toners. They are softer, more delicately made, and provide the first layer of moisture in a skincare program, as is typical of Korean skincare. They are meant to hydrate and balance the skin, not to dry it out as an astringent would.

4. Essences

Essences have been a staple of the Korean beauty routine for what seems like an eternity – many of us recall using essences before we even knew why; we just did it because our mothers said so.

5. Ampoules & Serums

Serums have a higher concentration of active chemicals. These emollient gel-like liquids frequently contain powerful compounds designed to target and cure specific skin concerns such as dark spots, wrinkles, and dullness. Serums are usually thicker and more viscous than essences.

You can make the most of the aforementioned skincare routine for beautiful and replenished skin.
